Scarborough North Bay Railway
Events
A heritage railway with 1/3 full-sized locomotives, water chute, high rope climbing frame, additional lakeside attractions, take-away food and gift shops. The railway travels almost a mile between Peasholm Park and the Sea Life Centre in North Bay where you can alight returning later.
A Brief History
Built in 1931, originally with just two engines and owned by Scarborough Council, the railway became under private ownership from 2006. Multiple activities have been added since then to include the water chute, high-rope climbing frame, bumper boats, electric-powered boats, water-walking balls, a tram for the younger children, take-away food, drinks and ice creams and gift shops at both ends.
Hidden Gems and Interesting Facts
Built in 1931 and still with the original steam-outline diesel engines plus two additional engines and the original water chute (formerly part of Kinderland) now included in our attractions.
